Meet the Team
Founded in early 2016, Pop-Up Gardens is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Iain and Emilie Porterfield. Originally hailing from Scotland, they share a passion for plants, horticulture, and creative design.

Emilie
With a diverse background in event planning, business management and marketing, Emilie loves working closely with clients to create amazing events.
She has an eye for creative details and beautiful styling.

Iain
Iain is a horticultural nut!
He has extensive experience as a gardener & landscaper, and developed a keen interest in indoor plant installations for events, whilst working for one of Australia’s leading Hospitality Groups.

Sam
Sam joined the Pop-Up Gardens team back in 2019.
He combines skills from his background in landscaping and horticulture with his awesome talents as an artist to help us create event styling with real flair!
Our Eco Story
Iain and Emilie are both passionate about protecting the environment, so finding ways to be eco-friendly has always been at the heart of the business.
"The living green wall was the first thing we built when Pop-Up Gardens started in early 2016 - the original wall is still going strong after 7 years, as are a lot of the original plants in it. We're pretty proud of that! It gets reused over and over and over again at events all over greater Sydney, which makes it a great option for sustainable event styling.
All our potted plants are either grown in our small plant nursery, or are sourced from local growers and small local nurseries here in Hawkesbury. All plastic nursery pots that are excess to our requirements are returned to those nurseries for re-use. Any plants that come to the end of their life cycle are composted and fed back into the soil. We also use only earth-friendly pest sprays, fertiliser and cleaning products. We try every day to make the best possible choices in order for our business to be as sustainable and low-impact as possible." - Emilie
Where we are
"Pop-Up Gardens is based in Kingswood, NSW, but we work all over greater Sydney. Events which are more than 40km travel may incur a delivery surcharge.
