One of the things I love about this job is that we’re always off doing such varied events in different places. One minute it’s a wedding at the Northern Beaches, the next it’s a market stall in Alexandria, or a corporate event in the city.

This weekend certainly didn’t disappoint in terms of variety! First we set up a beautiful Green Wall for our friends at CoCo Joy to add some real wow-factor to their stall at the International Beach Festival in Cronulla. A lush green backdrop really complemented their laid-back beachy vibe. The festival was a lot of fun – the sun was high, the surfing comp was in full swing, and CoCo Joy’s coconut water was so tasty that it sold out completely! These guys are super popular, especially on a hot day by the beach.

Then it was off to Wylie’s Baths in Coogee for another fabulous wedding – Megan and Florin. Styling was done by the wonderful Chris Saban, and catering by our buddies at Gallivant Events. This was our first time at Wylie’s, and the setting kind of blew me away – this historic wooden building (built in 1907) set against the sandstone cliff-face of Coogee headland on one side, and the Pacific Ocean on the other. What a view! The terrace where Megan and Florin’s reception was taking place looked amazing – cleverly styled in a simple and sleek way, to really enhance the natural beauty of the venue.

The access was a little tricky, with steep narrow wooden steps proving a challenge for our four large Kentia palms. I was happy to have my buddy Sean there helping me out, and on the plus side, I always remind myself I’m saving a fortune on gym membership! It was definitely worth the effort – the palms looked fantastic, and really suited the chic beachy vibe of the wedding. I was also really happy to see some familiar faces at this event – Tim at Gallivant, and Angela Finn, who is an amazing Sydney celebrant. It was a fun day, and all in all another great weekend completed.

Cheerio!

Iain.
