Investing for Good Conference & Marketplace

This was a really interesting event! The Investing for Good Conference and Marketplace is a platform for people, organisations, government and investors, to come together and learn about social impact investing. Impact investing is a growing field of investment that intentionally creates positive social or environmental impacts as well as financial return (see www.impactinvestingaustralia.com for further info).

We worked closely with Nicole and Sean at The Concept, a boutique creative agency, to design a unique Community Garden-themed stand for Ufirst. Ufirst, an initiative of icare (Insurance and Care NSW), brings together participants from the health system and the community to co-design better solutions to improve injury protection and worker recovery. We felt honoured to be involved with a company which is working hard to support better health, and social and economic outcomes for injured workers.

We co-designed and custom-built a slimline Green Wall and some beautiful rustic wooden planter boxes. I believe we really captured the Community Garden-feel by using herbs (Lemon Verbena, Mint, Basil) and fruiting plants like Strawberries, complemented by other flowering cottage garden plants like Cosmos, Gardenias, and some fresh green grasses (Lomandras). We mirrored this with the plants in our green wall, by using Mint, Lemon Balm, Curry Plant, Camomile, and pretty flowering Native Violets, Mondo grasses, and a variety of interesting succulents. This was a really cool project to work on, and just the sort of interactive, tactile planting we love to do – using lots of textures and colours, and above all, a great variety of scented and fragranced plants. Capturing Mother Nature at her best!

Ufirst were really happy with the stall we created with The Concept – a job well done!
